I have not written anything about my recovery since twelfth week after my operation. I was still suffering then, but a lot has changed since.
I am feeling great for last one month. I am just celebrating my first week free of pain.
The pain was ON and OFF till about seventh months after the operation, but it is now mostly gone. What little pain remains is what I call the "reminder pain" that reminds me to not do anything silly that will put unnecessary pressure on spine.
I started training with a trainer six months after the operation. I have made a gym at home. We do light weights and stretching three times a week. I have gained fifteen lbs since surgery but its mostly good weight. I needed some muscle.
My diet is strict. Using My Fitness Pal app, I am counting calories, and making sure I get right kinds of nutrition from fruit, vegetables, nuts, chicken, and fish. I eat six to seven meals a day.
I am keeping it very structured. I hope I can keep it going like this forever.
