Carnival: Water Balloons, and Foam Cans

Our flight back from Cusco was at 5 PM. After check out from hotel at around 10 AM, we walked to Plaza de Armas to pass time.

We noticed teams of adolescent boys and girls running around spraying each other with foam cans, all through the city center.

We thought it was fun, and decided to join in. I bought foam cans for Maheen and Zain, and bought myself water balloons.

Zain disappeared in the most fierce fight area in middle of Plaza de Armas, while Maheen and I stayed on the sides. Maheen sneaked behind people and sprayed them with foam, while I hurled water balloons at them.

Soon our victims noticed and ganged up against us. Maheen was covered in foam when three boys her age surrounded her, while a woman grabbed me by my collar and poured a gallon of water in my shirt.

Soon, the crowds grew, and no one was spared.  Young, and old alike were sprayed from head to toe, and everyone was wet from flying water balloons.

I dare not find Zain as he was in the center of fight. Thankfully, several hours later Zain emerged from the most animated part of the fight with an empty can. "Zain! I was worried! Where have you been? and is this the can I bought you?", I exclaimed.

"A girl snatched my can, so I snatched it from another girl. I don't want to go home!".
